At Latinx Immigrants of Iowa, our computer classes were created with one purpose in mind:
to ensure that our community stays connected, confident, and prepared in a world that is becoming more digital every day.
We saw many people struggling with simple but essential tasks—sending emails, filling out online forms, accessing government services, creating résumés, or even helping their children with school platforms. Technology moves quickly, and we knew our families shouldn’t be left behind.
That’s when we decided to build a program that would truly make a difference.
Our classes are led with the support of volunteers who have real experience in computer skills, people who understand the challenges our community faces and who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with patience and respect. Their commitment is what makes this program strong and meaningful.
We are also proud to have the support of Principal Financial Group, whose collaboration helps us provide the tools, structure, and environment necessary for our students to learn and grow at their own pace.
For us, these classes are more than lessons—they are an opportunity for empowerment.
A chance for parents to gain skills for better jobs, for seniors to stay connected with loved ones, and for newcomers to build confidence in a new country.
At Latinx Immigrants of Iowa, we believe that digital literacy is not a luxury—it’s a necessity.
And we are honored to walk alongside every person who chooses to learn, improve, and take the next step forward.
