Your Vote. Your Voice. (Tu Voto Es Tu Voz) is a nonpartisan civic education initiative created by Latinx Immigrants of Iowa to empower eligible voters through accurate, accessible, and trustworthy information about the democratic process in the United States.

Our mission is to provide clear, factual, and unbiased civic education so every eligible voter can understand the voting process, know their rights, and participate confidently in elections. We believe that an informed community is a stronger community, and that every eligible citizen deserves equal access to reliable election information.

We believe that strong communities are built by informed and engaged citizens. Voting is one of the most meaningful ways individuals can shape the future of their families, neighborhoods, and communities. Our goal is to ensure that every eligible voter has the knowledge and confidence needed to participate in elections and make informed decisions.

This initiative was established in response to a growing need for reliable, easy-to-understand election information within immigrant and multilingual communities. Many naturalized citizens are first-time voters and may have questions about voter registration, election deadlines, polling locations, early voting, vote-by-mail options, voter identification requirements, or the rights and responsibilities that come with participating in the electoral process. Your Vote. Your Voice. Tu Voto Es Tu Voz. was created to help bridge those information gaps through education, outreach, and trusted community resources.

Through educational materials, workshops, community presentations, digital resources, public events, and partnerships with trusted organizations, we provide clear, factual, and nonpartisan information that helps individuals understand how elections work and how they can participate with confidence. Our goal is to remove barriers to civic participation by making election information accessible to everyone, regardless of language, background, or previous experience with the U.S. voting system.

Latinx Immigrants of Iowa does not endorse, support, oppose, campaign for, or contribute to any political party, candidate, elected official, political committee, or political ideology. Our organization does not tell people who to vote for or how to vote.

Our sole purpose is to educate, inform, and encourage civic participation by providing accurate, factual, and unbiased information from reliable and official sources. Every eligible voter has the right to make their own decisions based on their personal values, beliefs, and priorities.

Our commitment is to education—not politics. Information—not persuasion. Participation—not partisanship.

At Latinx Immigrants of Iowa, we recognize that becoming a United States citizen represents years of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance. WHO CAN VOTE?

Voter Eligibility Requirements
Voting is one of the most important rights and responsibilities of United States citizens. Before registering to vote or participating in an election, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements established by federal and state law.

To vote in the United States, you generally must:
Be a United States citizen.
Be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day. (Some states allow 17-year-olds to register if they will turn 18 before Election Day.)
Meet your state's residency requirements.
Be properly registered to vote before your state's registration deadline, unless your state offers same-day voter registration.
Not be disqualified from voting under your state's laws, such as certain restrictions related to felony convictions or a court determination of mental incapacity. Eligibility rules vary by state.
