LATINX IMMIGRANTS OF IOWA
Education Empowerment and Culture
Our mission is to advocate for the equity of Latinx immigrants in Iowa and empower their communities through education and various types of civic engagement to lessen any barriers to their full participation in the greater Iowa community.
- Latino immigrants often fill essential roles in industries such as agriculture, construction, and service sectors, contributing to economic growth and productivity.
- Labor force replenishment: Latino immigrants help address labor shortages in various sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing, ensuring the continuity of essential services.
- Latino immigrants are entrepreneurial, starting businesses that create jobs, stimulate local economies, and drive innovation.
- Latino immigrants often prioritize family unity, supporting intergenerational bonds and strong familial relationships, which contribute to social stability and well-being.

Please note that this volunteer opportunity does not include a salary, but it offers valuable experience and the opportunity to accumulate service hours. By volunteering with us, you will have the chance to contribute to the educational advancement of our students while gaining valuable teaching experience. If you are passionate about education, fluent in English and Spanish, and eager to make a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to join our team as a volunteer instructor.
